OnePlus 7 Series Beats Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus And Apple iPhoneXR
A lot of smartphones have been introduced in the market with exciting features. While some people prefer budget smartphones which has created a market of its own, there is something unique about the premium segment phones. There has been a lot of cut-throat competition among the flagship smartphones.
This year the flagship killers of several brands gave a lot of options to the consumers by their unique features – be it a 48 megapixel camera or a full screen notch-less display or say a powerful battery backup. But in such a competitive market, which smartphone brand leads the race? Well, the research suggests that OnePlus takes the top spot when it comes to the highest sales.
According to the latest report of Counterpoint Research, the company’s OnePlus 7 series which launched in May has been ruling the charts. It has captured the highest-ever shipment share, 43 percent in the second quarter of 2019 to become the numero uno in the premium segment (Rs 30,000 and above). This year OnePlus also made its debut in the ultra-premium category (Rs 45,000 and above) where it has captured 26 percent share.
When it comes to its rivals, their share saw a substantial decline. Samsung slipped down to the second position after being on top in the first quarter of the year. The South Korean company now holds a 22 percent share in India.
Samsung’s flagship killer – the Galaxy S10 Plus has been the top model despite having the affordable version in the form of the Galaxy S10e. This is a sign to understand that the Indian users are willing to spend some extra bucks for a premium experience.
Taking Apple into consideration, the iPhone XR became a success as it doubled the sales in Q2 2019 after it saw a massive price drop in April. During the recent Amazon Prime Day sale, the price of iPhone XR came down to Rs 50,000 which attracted many consumers to buy the smartphone. However, the rivalry between the three brands doesn’t seem to end anytime soon.
Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy Note 10 series phones in August while Apple will come up with the next-generation iPhone models. It would be interesting to see which smartphone brand takes the lead in the sales trends in the next quarter.
