OnePlus today introduced the new OnePlus 6 smartphone, six months after the OnePlus 5T. As it befits a high-end phone in 2018, the phone uses a screen without borders (of format 19: 9, that is, more than twice as high as wide) of 6.28 inches and resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, but maintaining the overall size of the previous models. It does add a notch on the screen, in the style of the Essential Phone, the iPhone X or the newer Huawei P20, with a tab on the top edge where the cameras and front sensors are located.
It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip and will come in variants of 6 or 8 GB of RAM, and 64, 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. The phone uses a Gorilla Glass 5 glass structure on the front and back, with a treatment that the company says makes it feel like ceramic. The OnePlus 6 has a rear fingerprint sensor with Face Unlock, 3300 mAh battery, water resistance (but is not submersible) and dual rear camera, 16 and 20 megapixels, both with aperture f/1.7.
In addition to a larger sensor and optical stabilization for the primary camera, and an enhanced portrait mode, the OnePlus 6 phone can record in ultra slow motion (480 frames per second at 720p resolution) for one minute, then choose what segment of those 60 seconds will be in slow motion. It also records video in 4K at 60 fps, like other high-end phones this year.
The secondary camera of 20 megapixels serves to have background information to play with the depth of field (that is, to blur the background when a portrait is made). It also has 4G compatible with 40 frequency bands, NFC and Bluetooth 5.0, plus a USB-C connector with fast charging, and analog audio connector (the standard mini plug).
The company uses Android 8.1 in the variant that OnePlus developed, called OxygenOS 5.1. This version detects which applications are used most frequently and the preload; also a game mode that limits the operation of applications in the background to free resources for games. And adds gestures to quit an app or access the multitasking view without relying on an onscreen button, as already offers the iPhone X and incorporate Android P.

OnePlus 6 confirmed that the smartphone would also receive a limited edition to celebrate the movie “Avengers: Infinite War.” Called OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition, it has the same specifications as the primary model, with the differences being summed up to look. This smartphone also comes with a protective cap with Iron Man’s face and a gold medal with the Captain America symbol on the chest.
