Exams Details for Engineering and Management Aspirants in South India | AIB

TELANGANA STATE ENGINEERING COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (TS – ECET) 2018-2019

TS ECET is conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education. It is conducted for admissions into public or private universities. The application fee is Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates and Rs.800/- for other candidates.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen belonging to Telangana or Andhra Pradesh state only.
  • Candidates belonging to general category must secure a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying exam, and those belonging to SC/ST category must secure a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Students having a diploma in engineering/ pharmacy/ technology or having a B.Sc. degree with Mathematics can apply.

EXAM PATTERN

  • The exam is of 200 marks.
  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  • The questions are of multiple choice type.
  • The exam is conducted via online mode.
  • Each question is of 1 mark.

DIPLOMA HOLDERS: Physics and Chemistry are for 25 marks; Mathematics is for 50 marks while engineering subjects depending on the branch are for 100 marks.

PHARMACY COURSES: All the 4 subjects Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacology, are for 50 marks each.

B.SC. MATHEMATICS: Mathematics is asked for 100 marks; Analytical Ability and Communicative English are for 50 marks each.

ANDHRA PRADESH ENGINEERING COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (AP – ECET) 2018-2019

It is conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen belonging to Andhra Pradesh.
  • The candidates belonging to general category must obtain a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination, and those belonging to reserved categories must obtain a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • The candidate must have a Diploma in B.tech. / Pharmacy or B.Sc. degree with Mathematics.

EXAM PATTERN:

  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  • Each question is of 1 mark.
  • The exam is conducted via online mode.
  • The total number of questions is 200.
  • The questions are of multiple choice.

ENGINEERING: The exam consists of 4 sections- Mathematics (50 marks), Physics (25 marks), Chemistry (25 marks), and Engineering branches (100 marks).

PHARMACY: The exam consists of 4 sections- Pharmaceutics (50 marks), Pharmaceutical Chemistry (50 marks), Pharmacognosy (50 marks), and Pharmacology (50 marks).

B.SC. MATHEMATICS: The exam consists of 3 sections- Analytical ability (50 marks), Communicative English (50 marks), and Mathematics (100 marks).

KARNATAKA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (KCET)

KCET is organized by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission into Architecture, Engineering, Pharmacy, etc. The application fee for General & OBC candidates is Rs.650/-

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

For Engineering Courses-

• Candidates belonging to a general category should score at least 45% marks and candidates belonging to SC/ST category should score at least 40% marks in physics, mathematics and biotechnology/biology/chemistry/computer science/electronics.
• Candidates must have passed in Mathematics, Physics, & English.

For B.Pharma Course-

• The candidates have to pass 10+2 with PCB/PCM and English.
• Candidates belonging to general category must secure minimum 50% marks in PCB, and those belonging to SC/ST category must secure minimum 40% marks.

EXAM PATTERN:

  • The duration of the exam is 320 minutes.
  • The exam consists of 4 sections- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and Kannada.
  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics sections consist of 60 questions, and Kannada section consists of 50 questions.
  • There is no negative marking. Each question is for 1 mark.
  • The questions are Multiple Choice Type.
  • The examination is conducted offline.

CONSORTIUM OF MEDICAL, ENGINEERING AND DENTAL COLLEGES OF KARNATAKA UNDERGRADUATE ENTRANCE TEST (COMEDK UGET)

The exam is conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental of Karnataka (COMEDK). It is purely for undergraduate courses. The entrance exam is conducted only for engineering course. Admissions into architectural courses are based on NATA score. The application fee is Rs.1300/-

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• The students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English.
• The candidates belonging to general category must have a minimum of 45% marks while the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category must have a minimum of 40% marks.

EXAM PATTERN:

  • The exam is conducted via online mode.
  • The questions are of multiple choice type.
  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  • There is no negative marking. Each question is of 1 mark.
  • The total number of questions is 180.
  • The exam is divided into 3 sections Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. There are 60 questions from each section.
