Aloo Masala Recipe – How to Make Aloo Masala | AIB
The vegan recipe of Aloo Masala, Indian-style potatoes, is easy to prepare and requires few rare ingredients, making it suitable for everyone. In a short time, we can enjoy these delicious spiced potatoes dish.
Ingredients for 4 people & Preparation is 30 minutes:
- 2 large or 3 medium potatoes (about 600 gr.)
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin grain
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh coriander
Wash thoroughly and boil the whole potatoes with skin until they are soft, but do not fall apart (about 20 min). By pinning with a knife, we can check if they are ready. Then add some cold water to cool potatoes a little and peel them. Cut the potatoes into small squares, taking care that they do not break.
Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Roast the seeds about 10 seconds. Then add the turmeric, potatoes, and salt. For a few minutes, let the potato until it turns brown, stir carefully with a wooden spoon. The potatoes should not stay very dry should be lightly golden on the outside.
Finally add lemon juice and chopped coriander, stir and serve hot. If you want Aloo masala to be spicy, you can add some green chiles along with the cumin and mustard.
