Facebook’s new security feature ‘Profile Picture Guard,’ helps you to protect your profile picture and public info theft of your account. This feature makes sure others not to download, share, or send your profile picture in a message on Facebook. Mainly it will stop people from taking a screenshot of your profile picture. Still, this feature only works on Android phones for now.
According to Facebook’s research, some people do not feel safe publishing pictures of themselves on the Internet for fear that others may misuse them. To solve it Facebook has created a new guardian of the profile photo, available for India now but that would extend to more countries if the test is a success.
Facebook account unsafe without proper security features, there’s a particular amount of public information that anybody can view, and this covers your profile photo. Miscreants may take all the publicly available information on the account and then creates a new account, adding the friends of the original account and gaining access to all of their information that is ‘friends only.’
Your Facebook profile may seem like a relatively harmless thing for someone to get access to, but given that your account usually has where you work, your date of birth, and your full name, it makes identity theft a lot easier. So, this new security feature may overcome the fear of identity theft.
