Cast Revealed for Steven Spielberg’s ‘Pentagon Papers’ Movie | AIB
Finally, the full-cast of Steven Spielberg’s latest film project based on the “Pentagon Papers” case revealed. The names involved in it are very promising.
Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, will be the main stars of the film and they will support by Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, and Zach Woods.
‘The Papers,’ formerly known as ‘The Post.’ It is based a real story behind the article published by The Washington Post in 1971 containing various Pentagon secret documents. Streep and Hanks will play the two characters behind this news. The Washington Post’s main editor, Ben Bradlee (Hanks) works with Kay Graham (Streep) and the New York Times to rally against federal government in the United States that curb their right to publish articles.
“Pentagon Papers” itself is a secret document that reveals the terrible truths of the Vietnam war at that time. And this resulted in the exposure of President Nixon’s administration lies to the public. When the White House tried to stop the New York Times from publishing this, Bradlee and Graham struggled to reveal this to the public.
The story has a crush because Bradlee also coordinated research on the Watergate scandal, which would lead to the resignation of Richard Nixon in 1974. The current situation with Donald Trump might be the reason why Spielberg is in such a hurry to have this movie in theaters. Cinemas and for which he has managed to reunite this cast of dreams (remember the controversy of Streep and Trump).
Steven Spielberg is a busy man: he has started working on ‘The Papers’ when he has yet to finish the post-production of ‘Ready Player One,’ his long-awaited return to science fiction. It also prepares the fifth adventure of Indiana Jones and ‘The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara’, with Mark Rylance and Oscar Isaac. What will be your secret?
The Pentagon Papers Movie will be released on December 22, 2017.
